In Persian Classical Music, the art of improvisation holds a special place. But nowadays, unfortunately it is rarely performed on stage for certain reasons. This means that we miss the huge opportunity to share the artistic flowing moments of improvisation. The most important reason for that is that the internalization of the music in the artist's inner self does not happen. Giving priority to the financial matters of this art in recent years, and consequently taking account of a broader range of the audience are the further reasons.
Inspiration from the ruling atmosphere between the wide audience contributes to the selection of the mode and the poems. This occasion may be referred to as Monasebat-khani or Monasebat-navazi. The peak of improvisation on Persian music can be found in the works of accomplished masters such as Jalil Shahnaz, Hasan Kasa'i, Taj Esfahani, Adib Khansari, Reza Varzande, Ahmad Ebadi, and so forth.
The kind of music based on improvisation can be performed not only in the instrumental as well as vocal form but also by the percussion instruments in Zarbi-khani as what the deceased N
ہser Farhangfar did with Tombak.
The reason behind recording this album was actually our participation in the World Festival of Sufi in 2007. At that festival, the music performed was mostly Sufistic based on improvisation. Afterwards, we decided to improvise without any preparation inspired by the atmosphere of the festival though the presence of just one melodic instrument had made our presentation a bit easier. Afterwards, the positive feedback on our performance at the festival convinced us to make a recording of our performance at the studio a couple of days later. We do believe that such improvised performances are more impressive and profound when they are played live on the stage. But since the live recording of our performance was not fine, we did our best to recreate the same atmosphere at the studio while recording this album.

Undoubtedly there exist shortcomings with respect to the kind of performance which is improvisation. We hope you might ignore them.
